My dad did his military service as a drummer in the officers' club in Turkey. In this picture I am about just about 2 years old. Mom and I were in Istanbul and every now and then we could visit him at gigs.

2015 Little Italy and Friends

On Frank Farian's birthday "The Temptations" performed. It was a surprise performance and a gift to Frank, who has been a huge fan of them for years. Looking for a girl to go with the song "My Girl", the choice fell on me. I think I've never had such a huge lump in my throat with excitement and almost forgot the lyrics ;-) But then we sang together and I will never forget this outstanding moment.

On Tour with Moses P., Chaka Khan, Mother's Finest. Moses Pelham's band with Rico Sparx, Turbo B., DJ Starscream and me on the "Black Beat Night" tour with Chaka Khan, Mothers Finest and Maze. We toured Germany together for about 3 weeks. Our tour leader at that time was Marc Spoon. I had just released a single at the same time on Logic Records. A house song and duet with Matthis Angermann called "Bourbon Club". This tour encouraged me to continue working on my own songs. And that's what I did. A year later I released my first album "Tülay" on the label Marlboro Music.

After the Black Beat Night Tour, I kept working on my songs for my first album. I went to Paris frequently, but also to New York as well as New Jersey and composed about 50 to 60 songs during that time. In New York I met Martin Brem, who later signed me to Marlboro Music in Munich. We recorded the first album in Hamburg. It was also my first work as a producer, together with bassist Benjamin Hüllenkremer.

Backstage with Mundstuhl, Kisha Parker! Backstage with Mundstuhl and Kisha Parker! We had won the German contest for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Kiel with Corinna May and Ralf Siegel. After that we went to the international contest in Tallinn, Estonia.

My very first single was released by the label Logic Records. Producer Peter Ries had co-written the song with Greg de Neufville, with whom we also had a band together. Bourbon Club then became a duet with singer Matthis Angermann.

West Side Studio Los Angeles. In L.A. I was introduced to producer Eric Hudson by my brother Sadi. We would meet at West Side Studio and work together in the very studio space where Michael Jackson would often record songs. What an atmosphere. Those weeks were indescribably creative. I wonder why ;-)
